We’ve all been there: after hearing how versatile modern blenders can be, seeing countless recipe ideas online, and getting recommendations from friends, it’s easy to see why so many households want one in the kitchen. From smoothies and sauces to soups and quick meal prep, a quality blender can make everyday cooking faster and more convenient — so deciding to buy one often feels like the natural next step. And then two weeks after you finally got a Blender, you run out of ideas how to make the daily breakfast smoothie interesting. Kale and Mango? Done that. Cherry, Cinnamon and Banana? Been there. Spinach and pineapple with coconut water? Yep, it was delicious for about three days and now your tastebuds can’t possibly take any more pineapple for at least a month.Luckily, there are millions of other recipes you can whip up in a blender. These are the quick and easy Betta favourites: Raw Applesauce Applesauce is an amazing substitute for refined sugar in any home baking recipes. Not only that but it also doubles as a great alternative to store bought puddings for our little ones. Ingredients: 2 large apples, cored and quartered 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg Method: Blend all the ingredients for a couple of minutes in the blender and you’ve got healthy, raw applesauce to eat straight out of the jar. It should keep in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week or in a jar in the freezer. Just make sure you leave enough room for expansion so the glass doesn’t break. Homemade "Nutella" We’re pretty much crazy about Nutella! Imagine our joy when we found out there’s a healthy alternative that takes almost no time to make at home:Ingredients: 5 cups hazelnuts (without skin, lightly roasted) 2 tbsp baking-grade cocoa powder 2 tbsp honey 5 cups coconut oil (add bit by bit) Method:Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend until you have a smooth consistency. It’s best to start with the lowest setting on your blender and working your way up as the mixture gets moister. Make sure you add a little coconut oil at a time until you have reached your desired texture. Put it in a glass jar and keep it in the fridge for a few weeks. Fruit Leather Know those Rolled Up, Sweet, Fruity Treats for lunchboxes? Most of them contain so much refined sugar they’re not really a healthy treat at all… luckily it’s not difficult to make your own! Be warned though: They do need roughly 4 hours in the oven.Ingredients: 2 cups strawberries, washed, trimmed and halved (or any other fruit) 2 ripe peaches, pitted and peeled (or any other fruit) 1 tsp lemon juice 2 tsp agave or honey Method:Pre-heat the oven to 100 degrees Celsius. Line two trays with baking paper. Blend all the ingredients, making sure there are no chunky bits left. Now spread the mixture evenly across the two baking trays. Level it evenly as the thin parts will bake quicker and may burn otherwise. Put the trays in the oven, checking on them every 30 minutes for roughly 4 hours in total. Afterwards, let them cool down before you peel them off the parchment paper, cut them into strips and roll them up. They should keep in an airtight container for a few days.As with all blender recipes, don’t forget to clean your blender properly afterwards!
