Review from Lauren @athletelunchbox

I knew when I was asked to write a sponsored post about Tefal's new air fryer, I wanted to try something that was a little out of the box. I have a large experience with air fryers in the past and absolutely love the appliance, but the new 11L Air Fryer from Tefal was something else - THIS THING WAS HUGE which meant it has much more versatility with what you can cook.

Method:

Serves 4

1. Prep

In one air fryer compartment, toss the gnocchi with olive oil to coat. In the other compartment, mix the eggplant, red capsicum, zucchinis, and asparagus with olive oil, dried basil, salt, and pepper.

If using a single compartment, start with the vegetables and add the gnocchi when 25 minutes remain.

2. Cook the Gnocchi and Vegetables

Air fry the vegetables at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes and the gnocchi for 15 minutes. Shake the gnocchi and toss the vegetables every 10 minutes.

If using one compartment, cook the vegetables for 40 minutes and add the gnocchi with 25 minutes remaining, tossing everything more frequently for even cooking.

With 10 minutes left, add the cherry tomatoes to the vegetables, toss gently, and continue air frying.

When done, the gnocchi should be golden and crispy, and the vegetables tender with slightly caramelized edges. If needed, air fry for an extra 2–3 minutes.

3. Serve and Enjoy

Combine the crispy gnocchi with the roasted Mediterranean vegetables, drizzle with the dressing and serve warm, or enjoy as a cold gnocchi salad.

1. Prepare Air Fryer

In one compartment of the air fryer, using two pieces of aluminium foil approx. 30cm x 30cm, craft boats next to each other, making sure the aluminium continues up the walls.

In the other compartment, place a small ramekin or cup full of water.

2. Cook Proteins

In the compartment with the aluminium foil, place chicken pieces in one boat and beef pieces in another boat (making sure they don’t touch).

Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C (350°F). Remove basket every 10 minutes and move proteins around so they cook evenly. Beef should reach 60-65°C (145–155°F) for medium, and chicken should reach 74°C (160-165°F).

Note: depending on the size of the cuts, the beef may be done before the chicken. If this occurs, remove the foil packet and continue cooking chicken.

3. Cook Vegetables

Place vegetables in a single layer near the ramekin of water (this helps create a steam). Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F)

4. Prepare Sauce

Add all ingredients into a jar with an airtight lid. Give it a good shake until all the ingredients are mixed well together.

5. Combine

Add rice, the desired cooked protein, and vegetables to a bowl or meal prep container. Top with sauce.

1. Pancakes

Make pancake mix according to packet instructions or make your favourite pancake recipe. In a glass container, add desired amount of pancake mix then top with raspberries.

Add to one compartment of the air fryer and bake for 20 minutes at 160°C (320°F) until you pull out a clean skewer from the middle.

2. Bacon

Add bacon in a single layer to the other air fryer compartment (if layering, you’ll need to open and move bacon more frequently).

Cook for 10 minutes at 180°C (350°F) for medium crisp. Add a couple more minutes for super crispy.

Be sure to save this next recipe for your next family gathering!

If you haven't made an air fryer ham with an orange maple glaze, you are missing out! Using a small, precooked leg ham in the air fryer keeps it tender and juicy, while the glaze caramelises to create the perfect roast ham with a citrus twist. It's a perfect ham for smaller families or gatherings - and you don't even need to turn your oven on.

Method

Prepare the Ham

1. Unwrap the ham and pat dry using a paper towel. For a decorative touch, leave the rind on to enhance the scoring pattern with the glaze, or remove it if preferred.
2. Score the rind and fat in a crisscross pattern, about 1/2 cm deep, to help the glaze soak in and caramelize beautifully.
3. Generously brush the ham with glaze, covering the surface. Set aside extra glaze to brush on halfway through for added flavour and moisture. Sprinkle zest from 1 orange over the ham for extra citrus intensity.

Air Fry Ham

4. Place the ham in the air fryer’s large compartment with space for the rind to rise if left on. Cook at 160°C (320°F) for 15 minutes. Then, brush with more glaze, reduce heat to 120°C (250°F), and cook for 45 more minutes. The ham is already cooked so you're only reheating it, but it should reach about 60°C making it warm and moist without being overcooked.

Rest and Serve

5. Remove from the air fryer, sprinkle with additional orange zest, and let the ham rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your beautifully glazed orange maple air fryer ham! See post for meal prep tips and what to serve this air fryer baked ham with.

Notes

Note 1 - Small Ham

I recommend a small boneless leg ham (approx. 2kg) for this recipe because it fit within the large compartment of the Tefal 11L Air Fryer. If you have a smaller or larger air fryer, you can adjust the size of the ham to suit. Make sure you take note of the dimensions, so you're not stuck with a ham that doesn't fit.

Note 2 - Orange Juice & Rind

1 orange should produce approximately 1/4 cup (60ml) of orange juice and 1 heaped tablespoon (15g) of orange zest.
