Panasonic Refrigerator Features

The brand that represents over 100 years of consumer electronics R&D has innovative technology featured in each of the fridge models - whether it is a French Door or Bottom Mount– you can enjoy optimised freshness, nutrition and hygiene for a healthy lifestyle. The new Prime+ Edition range

Prime Fresh – For even longer freshness

All models also include Panasonic’s Prime Fresh technology: ‘Soft freezing’ at -3°C which is perfect when you don’t want to put food into the freezer but want it to be fresh at the end of the week. Soft Freeze keeps meat, fish, poultry and pre-prepared meals as fresh as the day you brought them home.

Much loved Australian cook Marion Grasby shares her thoughts on this feature: “The Prime Fresh drawer will soft freeze your meats and seafood and that keeps them fresher for longer. It locks in nutrients and flavour, suppresses oxidation and stops food from spoiling quickly. Cooking is easier and quicker as there is no need to defrost first.”

Prime Freeze – for rapid cooling

Located in the freezer, the Prime Freeze drawer freezes food five times faster* than a standard freezer to lock in flavour, nutrients, texture and colour. The drawer has three modes: Rapid Freezing, which ensures a variety of food from fruit to meat or bread can stay delicious after defrosting; Quick Cooling, which chills drinks and food such as marinades and desserts in 15 minutes, delivering extra convenience when it comes to home cooking and entertaining; and Cool Down, which quickly removes heat from dishes straight from the stove.

Fresh Safe Fruit & Vegetable Drawer

The Fresh Safe fruit and vegetable drawer, located in the middle section of the refrigerator, automatically maintains up to 90 per cent* humidity. This is the optimal temperature to retain moisture and keep produce fresh and succulent for longer. The wide space also accommodates larger vegetables such as celery and kale.

nanoe™ X Technology

Unique to Panasonic, nanoe™ X Technology releases nano-size water particles into the fridge which inhibits up to 99.99%* of bacteria and deodorises the fridge’s interior for safe and hygienic food storage.

Energy Efficient

The Refrigerators offer excellent Energy Ratings across the full range. The Prime+ Edition range offering a 5-star energy rating for Bottom Mount models and 4.5 stars, one of the highest in the market for French Door models reducing the cost of ownership and impact on the environment.

Inverter Compressor – improves efficiency and offers larger freezer space.

Energy saving, quiet and durable, Panasonic fridges are powered by an efficient Inverter Compressor Motor. Featuring 7 levels of motor adjustment, the motor is able to maintain stable temperatures to consume minimum power when required, helping save energy while cooling your food. And the newest PRIME+ Edition range with unique top mount compressor design expands freezer capacity for a significantly larger food storage space and improves freezing performance.

ECONAVI

The ECONAVI function detects opening and closing of the fridge door and brightness around the fridge, automatically controlling conditions to help maximise energy saving efforts. For example, when the fridge’s sensors detect darkness at night when you’re asleep, the fridge will put the ECONAVI mode on.

Ice Maker

All Panasonic fridges have a twist ice tray and ice box in the freezer, ensuring that making ice and serving cool drinks is simple. And since the ice maker is not plumbed, the fridge can be placed anywhere in your kitchen.

FAQs

What is a French Door Fridge?

French Door Fridges are characterised by their continuous cooling in the top part of the fridge and freezing in the bottom compartment. The top of the French Door Fridge features even split doors without the fridge space being cut in half, making it perfect for cooling platters, trays and other large items. The bottom freezer of a French Door Fridge is typically a drawer or a side opening door. French Door Fridges are usually three doors (top at the two, one at the bottom), with some models having four even split doors aka Quad Door Fridges.

What is a Bottom Mount Fridge?

By design, a Bottom Mount Fridge is the opposite to the traditional Top Mount Fridge. Bottom Mount Fridges feature a top refrigerator section and a bottom freezer. For when you need easy access to your cool items without awkward bending, a Bottom Mount Fridge will do the trick.

What are the advantages of a French Door Fridge?

With a large capacity, French Door Fridges are great for accommodating the needs of growing families and home cooks. French Door Fridges provide cooling flexibility with their wide shelves and door pockets in both split doors. Built with a split door design, French Door Fridges are great at reducing cold air loss.

What are the disadvantages of a French Door Fridge?

French Door Fridges are typically big in size, making them suitable for use only in large kitchens and not smaller, compact kitchens like those in apartments or studios. Since French Door Fridges also open with two doors, they will require adequate space on both sides of the fridge to enable full operation.

What are the advantages of a Bottom Mount Fridge?

A Bottom Mount Fridge offers easy access to all essential cooled foods with its top refrigerator. With less bending and awkward motions, grabbing some fruit, milk and your everyday items will be a breeze! A Bottom Mount Fridge is ideal for those making use of fresh ingredients on a regular basis and use the freezer for longer term storage.

What are the disadvantages of a Bottom Mount Fridge?

Bottom Mount Fridges usually feature a smaller storage capacity when compared to French Door Fridges. Reduced storage options are another disadvantage of Bottom Mount Fridges, seeing as they only have one door and not two split doors. Cold air loss is more likely to happen as the whole fridge is exposed when the doors are open.

Which fridge is better, French Door or Bottom Mount Fridge?

The best fridge is one that will ultimately meet your food cooling and storage needs. If you have a growing household that needs more storage space and cooling flexibility, then a French Door Fridge will do the trick! A French Door Fridge is also ideal for home cooks and entertainers who are always in need of extra space and wider shelves to accommodate for trays and big portions. A Bottom Mount Fridge is best suited for small households, like couples and small families, with plentiful space to ensure all essentials can be cooled without any compromise on the kitchen’s space or design.
