Herb & Garlic Crusted Steak

Serves 2


1 garlic clove, finely chopped | 1 tsp. curry powder | 2 tbsp. freshly chopped herbs (rosemary, parsley, chives) | 1 tbsp. fresh Rosemary leaves | 2 Porterhouse steaks


  1. Mix the first 3 ingredients and season.
  2. Rub all over steaks.
  3. In a lightly oiled pan, cook for 3 to 4 minutes 
  4. Turn meat over
  5. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes
  6. Set aside
  7. Cover with foil for 5 minutes 
  8. Slice to serve

Betta Tips: For pan-frying glory

  • Preheat the pan to moderately hot
  • Lightly glaze with with oil
  • Meat should ‘sizzle’ when added to the pan
  • Keep the heat moderately high; enough to keep it sizzling without burning
  • Cook one side until moisture appears on the upper side, turn and cook other side. Turn once for rare and medium. For well-done, turn a second time once moisture re-appears and reduce temperature until cooked.
